Welcome to Christmas for Children!

The purpose of Christmas for Children (CFC) is to provide supplemental gifts during the holidays for children (aged from birth thru high school and unmarried) of families who are of low income or experiencing financial problems and live in Floyd County. The primary focus of CFC is on the needs of children from low-income families. CFC is not restricted to families receiving public assistance.

The policy of CFC is for children to receive assistance through the distribution of gifts based on acceptance to the program through an application and screening process. All gifts are given to approved recipients at no cost to them.

Donate to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and help us bring books to children and inspire a life long love of reading!

CFC is a community-based program operating under the umbrella of Floyd County Cares (FCC), a 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization and the fiscal agent for CFC. All CFC program income and expenses are handled by the designated FCC bookkeeper in accordance with federal and state laws and the policies of FCC. Administrative costs are kept to a bare minimum so over 95% of monetary donations go directly into meeting the needs and wishes of the children.

CFC volunteers have been supplementing Christmas for needy Floyd County children for almost 40 years. Through its ANGEL PROGRAM, CFC has in the past 10 years helped provide Christmas for over 2500 children (ANGELS). Since its inception in1983, CFC volunteers and donors have provided toys, books, clothing, shoes, gift certificates for food, and even blankets/quilts, coats, hats, and scarves.

Read how the organization has evolved on the HISTORY page.

The organization’s efforts are funded entirely by generous donations from County residents, churches, and merchants. Floyd Moose Lodge very generously donates space for about 3 months prior to Christmas for collecting and sorting donations. CFC holds fundraisers and does donation drives throughout the year.

CFC Committee Members thank the Floyd County Community at large for its generous support over the years!
