Christmas For Children Continues Angel Tree Tradition of Giving in 2024
With joyful hearts, Christmas for Children would like to thank everyone who helped brighten Christmas for 153 children from 65 families. New this year, we were able to partner with the Floyd Chapter of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to provide monthly books to the children five and under in those families.

In the 2023 Christmas season, thanks to the support of people like you, we were able to help 153 children have a brighter holiday. Those children were from 65 Floyd County families.
Gifts from Floyd County residents were generous with the majority of Angels being selected from area trees displayed at Jessie-Peterman Library, Slaughter’s Supermarket, Atlantic Union Bank, and many local churches. Those gifts, as well as monetary donations and volunteers who gave numerous hours throughout the process, are greatly appreciated.
In addition, the Floyd Quilters Guild and Floyd Baptist Church supplied 16 small quilts, 12 large quilts, and 27 pillowcases to add to gifts for our children and families. Crocheted/knitted caps and scarves were donated by members of the community. Families were also given Christmas for Children gift certificates for a one-time purchase of groceries at Slaughter’s Supermarket.
In addition, Christmas for Children is partnering with the Floyd County Dolly Parton Imagination Library (DPIL). Donate to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and help us bring books to children and inspire a life long love of reading!
Our thanks to Doug Thompson and members of the Floyd Moose for once again allowing Christmas For Children to use their building for the application process. Special Thanks to Amy Poff and Reaching Out For Jesus Ministries for allowing the organization to use their facility for gift assembly and distribution. The group plans to accept applications beginning October 7, 2024. Learn more about the group and become a volunteer.
The purpose of Christmas for Children (CFC) is to provide supplemental gifts during the holidays for children (birth thru unmarried high school) of families who are of low income or experiencing financial problems and live in Floyd County. CFC is not restricted to families receiving public assistance.
